How to play
- Every day there are five cities, the same for everyone. A new set starts at midnight.
- For each one, picture a tunnel from that city straight down through the center of the Earth.
- Tap the map where you think it comes out, then press Dig here!
- You score up to 1,000 points per city: full marks within 150 km, fewer the further off you are.
- Share your score as a row of emoji. Come back tomorrow to keep your streak going!
The trick
The point exactly opposite a city is its antipode. To find it, flip the latitude from north to south (or south to north), then go 180° around in longitude. Most tunnels end in the ocean: only about 13% of land has land on its far side.
Scoring
- within ~260 km: bullseye
- within ~930 km: great dig
- within ~2,400 km: right neighbourhood
- within ~5,200 km: wrong part of the ocean
- further: the Earth is big!
Get full marks on all five for 5,000 points and the title of Master Mole 🏆.
